Life's greatest opportunities often emerge in the face of a challenge. If there is one thing I have learned on this journey, it is that strength is born from adversity.
It was a daring move — a leap of faith into the world of real estate. As the sole provider for my family, I was entering a commission-based industry. It was in the face of many uncertainties that I leaned into my strengths: resilience, adaptability and a passion for connecting with people.
My childhood was far from conventional. My family was moving nearly every two years. My family’s nomadic lifestyle meant I never had a true place to call home. Each move meant a new school, new friends and a new community to integrate into. Along with the constant changes I faced, I also had dyslexia, meaning I had to work twice as hard to achieve the same academic success as those around me. Yet, it was these very challenges that would later transform into my greatest strengths.
One pivotal moment in my life occurred when I found myself at a British boarding school at just 8 years old. This marked a turning point. Despite the dyslexia, I thrived in this new setting. I became the captain of the rugby team and a head prefect. I even adopted a British accent, fully immersing myself in the culture. This experience left a lasting impression: life is about recognizing one's unique strengths and making the most of them.
For years, I had bounced around, working in top corporate positions in hospitality and sales, but I never found a passion for it. When I moved to Colorado, I fully embraced the skiing lifestyle while also selling timeshares and eventually leasing out office spaces. It was the first career I had where I spoke directly to my clients or the decision-makers, removing unnecessary memos, lengthy emails and proposals.
Ready for a new chapter, my wife and I decided to return to the East Coast, specifically her hometown of Saratoga Springs. Leaning into my strengths, I got into fundraising. Every day, I spoke directly with people, whether it was through events or networking, and I loved it! I started connecting with the community and building relationships.
Flipping properties became an exciting side project. Aside from the contracts, there is very little paperwork, allowing me to thrive in this face-to-face industry. While it was never my plan, I recognized my potential in real estate. The thought of running my own business was exciting, and as I continued to find success, I realized it was possible if I put the work in.
In 2005, after saving up money from a few successful flips, I became a full-time REALTOR®. With two kids at that time to provide for, it was a daring move, but I was confident in my strengths. From the beginning, I found a deep understanding and appreciation for what my clients were experiencing. Constantly on the move as a child, it was easy to connect with them and become a liaison throughout the transition period, helping with anything and everything they may need.
Learning the intricacies of the real estate market, understanding the needs and desires of clients and building a network from the ground up was no small feat. Yet, I was no stranger to challenges. Some 18+ years later, I am still grateful every day I made the step into the unknown. Real estate has allowed me to provide for my family while also having a career I am passionate about.
Building lasting relationships with my clients has proved to be one of the greatest joys in my career. When we go to dinner or visit a local business, I often recognize several past clients who are now friends. I am a proud ambassador for the Saratoga Springs area. My work goes beyond helping people find a home; it is about connecting people and building roots so we all can thrive here together.
Over 18+ years in real estate, I've had the privilege of helping hundreds of individuals and families find their dream homes, invest wisely and make significant life transitions. I love our small-town community of Saratoga Springs and want to help others find opportunities in the area.
As a REALTOR®, I take pride in my versatility. I can work well with buyers and sellers across any price range. Regardless of the price point, I treat every client with the same level of attention and dedication. I excel at timely and responsive communication, understanding that being there for my clients is crucial. I stay connected to the market, analyze data and identify trends early so I can offer the best data-backed advice to my clients. As you and your family enter a new chapter, I can anticipate your needs and provide tailored solutions to your real estate goals. Above all else, I provide exceptional communication with my clients, staying in touch even after the transaction is over as your REALTOR® and friend for life, committed to your continued success.
Sincerely,
